The Story of The Stitch…
Hi! We’re Erika and Alyssa, the founders of Sharp & Social.
Sharp & Social began with a simple observation: the modern world is fast, loud, and increasingly digital. But we craved meaningful connection to the community, and a way to disconnect from the noise. What started as a few friends gathering in local bookstores and restaurants is evolving into a city-wide collective for the craft-inclined and socially curious.
We’ve reimagined the traditional sewing circle for a new generation. By trading fluorescent lights for curated atmospheres and spirited conversation, we’ve created a “third place” where creativity and community collide. From our Craft & Yap social hours to our intensive Workshops, we provide the space, and tools, and most importantly, the drinks!
We welcome you regardless if you’re a seasoned fiber artist or someone who hasn’t picked up a craft in their entire lives.
We take our craft seriously, but never ourselves.
Come get sharp with us.
I’ve always been drawn to things that take time - a well plotted novel, a stirred cocktail, a hand-placed stitch. I wanted to share that slow-down with you. My background is in biomedical engineering, but my passion is in building ‘third places’ where we can all put down our phones and pick up a new story.
When I’m not at a workshop or a pop-up, you can usually find me lost in the aisles of a bookstore, trying to find the perfect martini garnish, or at home with a half-finished project that I promise I’m going to finish at our next event.

I am a firm believer that the best conversations happen over a craft project. After moving to Morristown, I wanted to build a space that traded digital noise for tactile art (and good cocktails). When I’m not teaching a workshop or planning the next pop-up, you can find me kicking butts in the corporate world, re-reading Throne of Glass, or creating a hand embroidery tiktok tutorial.
